Exercise 1: Brand Origin Reflection
Prompt: Take 15 minutes to write down how your brand started. Consider the following questions:
What inspired you to create your brand?
What problem were you trying to solve?
What personal experiences influenced the birth of your brand?
Exercise 2: Vision Mapping
Prompt: Visualize where you want your brand to be in the next 5-10 years. Write a brief paragraph or create a vision board that includes:
Key milestones you want to achieve.
The impact you want your brand to have on customers and the industry.
How your brand will evolve and grow.
Exercise 3: Emotional Connection
Prompt: Think about the emotions you want your audience to feel when they think of your brand. Make a list of 3-5 emotions and describe why each is important to your brand story. Then, brainstorm ways to weave these emotions into your messaging, product, or customer interactions.
Exercise 4: Consistency Check
Prompt: Review your brand's current communication channels (website, social media, packaging, etc.). Write down the key messages or themes you see. Ask yourself:
Are these messages consistent across all platforms?
Do they align with the brand story you want to tell?
What changes can you make to ensure your story is consistently communicated?
Exercise 5: Legacy Thinking
Prompt: Consider how you want your brand to be remembered. Write a “brand legacy statement” that sums up what you want people to say about your brand in the future. This can help guide your storytelling and business decisions.
Exercise 6: Elevator Pitch Refinement
Prompt: Craft a 2-3 sentence elevator pitch that captures the essence of your brand story. Focus on clarity and impact, making sure it touches on your brand's origin, mission, and what makes it unique. Practice this pitch until it feels natural and authentic.
Elevator Pitch Refinement Exercise
Fill in the blanks to craft a concise and impactful elevator pitch:
Origin:
"Our brand started when [describe the problem or inspiration that led to the creation of your brand] because we believed that [your motivation or belief]."Mission:
"We are dedicated to [your core mission or what you aim to achieve] by [how you plan to achieve this mission]."Uniqueness:
"What makes us unique is [what sets your brand apart from others, your unique selling proposition]."
Combine these elements into a 2-3 sentence pitch (example):
"Our brand started when we realized most popcorn on the market was filled with artificial ingredients because we believed that snacking should be both delicious and natural. We are committed to creating a guilt-free snacking experience by using organic, non-GMO kernels and bold, unique flavors like spicy sriracha and honey lavender. What makes our popcorn unique is our commitment to clean ingredients and innovative flavors that surprise and delight."
